HAPPENING NOW- SRPD’S TOUCH-A-TRUCK SRPD’s Touch HAPPENING NOW- SRPD’S TOUCH-A-TRUCK SRPD’s Touch-A-Truck event is HAPPENING NOW at San Rafael High School’s Third Street parking lot, located at 150 Third Street in San Rafael. The event goes until 2 PM today. This is a great FREE event for the whole family. Kids and adults of all ages will have the chance to see, touch, and explore a police truck, a police motorcycle, a fire truck, an ambulance, a tractor, a dump truck, a tow truck, a garbage truck, and much more. This year IS the biggest Touch-A-Truck with more spectacular trucks and vehicles. Food and refreshments are available with a selection of food and ice cream trucks for everyone to enjoy. COMUNIDAD POLICÍA ACADEMIA – ESTA CLASE DE LA ACAD COMUNIDAD POLICÍA ACADEMIA – ESTA CLASE DE LA ACADEMIA SERÁ EN ESPAÑOL: El Departamento de PolicĂ­a de San Rafael organizarĂĄ otra Academia de PolicĂ­a Comunitaria en español para los miembros de nuestra comunidad hispanohablante. Las clases de la academia se impartirĂĄn todos los miĂ©rcoles por la noche, de 6:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., desde el 19 de agosto hasta el 21 de octubre de 2026. El departamento de policĂ­a de San Rafael estĂĄ encantado de presentar a la academia de policĂ­a de la comunidad en Español. El programa se ofrece por 10 semanas gratis para los participantes. Acompåñanos en el centro pĂșblico de seguridad que estĂĄ localizado en 1375 5th Avenida, para esta oportunidad Ășnica de aprender sobre la aplicaciĂłn de la ley de oficiales que hablan Español con experiencia. For two and a half centuries, our nation has been guided by the enduring ideals of freedom, democracy, service, and opportunity. As we reflect on our country’s rich history, we are grateful for the sacrifices of those who helped build and defend our nation and for the strong sense of community that continues to make San Rafael a wonderful place to live, work, and visit. The members of the San Rafael Police Department sincerely appreciate the ongoing support, trust, and partnership of our community. We are honored to serve alongside you and wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July holiday. As you celebrate, please remember these important safety tips: 🎆 Fireworks are illegal in San Rafael and throughout Marin County. Leave fireworks displays to trained professionals and attend the Marin County Fair public fireworks show instead. 🚗 Never drive under the influence of any impairing substance. SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE: San Rafa SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE: San Rafael, CA – Diego Alejandro Diaz Flores, an 18-year-old resident, was arrested this morning by the Marin Regional Crisis Response Unit for attempted homicide related to a shooting incident on June 26. Officers found a 28-year-old male with gunshot wounds, who is currently stable at a local hospital. The investigation revealed a distinct multi-colored handgun used in the shooting, leading to the arrest of a juvenile linked to Diaz Flores. Surveillance footage and community cooperation helped confirm Diaz Flores as the shooter. He has been booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide, in violation of Penal Code section 664/187 PC. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the San Rafael Police Department at (415) 485-3000 or submit tips online anonymously. #SanRafaelPolice #SanRafaelPD #SRPD #PressRelease #News
